Mining

The GIP is focused on developing two world-class mining districts in Chile: Los Pelambres. The Los Pelambres district have long-life operations with significant mineral resources and produce significant byproducts: gold, silver and molybdenum. Within these operations are five open pit mines and one underground mine.

Key elements of operational efficiency are health and safety. These remain a top priority for the Board and management team.

Codelco

Codelco is one of our major client (www.codelco.com), Codelco is the main copper producer in the world. The Corporation also controls around 10% of the world reserves of this metal. The Company develops its operations through six mining divisions plus the Ventanas Smelter and Refinery, owned by Codelco since May 2005. Its corporate strategy is coordinated from its Head Office in Santiago, Chile.

Antofagasta

Antofagasta is also one of our major client (www.antofagasta.co.uk), Antofagasta is a Chile-based copper mining group with significant by-product production and interests in transport and water distribution. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.
